Captain’s Log:
Gulf of Mexico waters are warming up locally. Our fish are moving into the deeper water. The fishing action has been good in the 50 – 65 ft for our Gag Grouper. And the Kingfish action has been red hot! Mangrove Snappers have just arrived, holding onto specific rock piles. Due to the calmer days, we start our 12 hour trips June 1st. Red Snapper open up off shore where we target them and big Red Grouper over the hard, flat bottom. We will also catch Vermillion Snapper, Mangrove Snapper and Lane Snapper. Quite often we have schooling Mahi Mahi come right to the boat, where we get to pick and choose the ones we like to get on our 12 hour trips. This is in water depth 95 – 115 ft.
